ABOUT THE GOVERNORS
Minutes of all Governor's meetings, held at least once every term, are available to all parents, along with all policy documents relating to the general running of the school. Please take time to read them, but note that they can only be read within the school.
Introducing the Governors
As governors, we’re acutely aware that people have a vague impression of school governing boards as filled by elderly, stuffy, old-fashioned individuals, well past their sell-by date and who are out of touch with the demands of a modern education service.
You’ll be relieved to learn the board of governors at Pontfadog School couldn’t be further from that often misplaced perception.
We have a strong collection of men and women from all age groups who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our decision making. We meet formally six times per year (informally a lot more) and work in close and successful partnership with the teaching staff to maintain the high standards we set both ourselves and our pupils.
Blending our collective passion to create a positive learning environment for all our children, with the wisdom that comes with age and experience and the enthusiasm of energetic and engaged parents, is a fairly potent mix which serves us well.
The combined acumen and wide-ranging skills mix of current and former educationists, parents, local business people and a range of professionals from diverse workplaces, allows us to manage the school efficiently and effectively for the benefit of all our pupils.
This collective wisdom benefits every area of school life to ensure the school thrives and our young people flourish - regardless of their academic or physical ability.
Ultimately, the governors’ aim is to serve all our pupils well and give them the best possible start to a life of learning. We achieve that by being pro-active in supporting the teaching and ancillary staff, to enable them to meet the needs of all pupils, and help you, as a proud parent, shape a happy, balanced and well-rounded child.
We are rightly proud of our school and its ethos. The parent governors play a vital and important role on the governing body. They are there to discuss anything you may wish to raise with them. Thank you for considering Pontfadog School.
