Class Organisation
Early Years – 3 to 5 year olds
The Nursery part of this class is for children who will be four years old during the current school year. It takes place between 12.45pm and 3.15pm every day.
The Nursery is integrated with Reception children, who will be five years old during the current school year, and who attend school full-time.
In January, children who are 3 before December 31st are also entitled to join the Nursery class.
The Early Years group is guided by a fully trained Nursery Assistant under the direct supervision of the Infant Teacher.
Early Years Education at
Key Stage One (KS 1) – 5 to 7 year olds
This class caters for Year 1 and Year 2 children, starting with children who become 6 years old in the current school year.
Teaching here is through the National Curriculum, with teacher assessment on entry to full time education and at the end of KS 1.
Teaching is by the Infant Teacher, with other staff and external helpers assisting on occasion, to give as broad an educational experience as possible.
Children are encouraged in all the basic areas of education and to become full members of the whole school community.
